Supporting Autism in the Workplace Workshop

Are you having problems recruiting staff for your business?

Have you ever considered alternative labour markets?

Hosted by The National Museum Of Computing on Bletchley Park, In association with ACS Recruitment Solutions.

Around 1 in 60 people in the UK are currently living with autism – and only 16% of adults with autism are currently employed and there are thousands of people across Milton Keynes whom are diagnosed, and many more who are not.

Many autistic people have a variety of skills that enable them to thrive in a wide variety of roles, however they are often disadvantaged when it comes to getting and keeping a job because of difficulties with social communication and interaction, other people’s lack of understanding & sensory issues. Through working in Northamptonshire, TRACK have supported over 20 people into paid work in a variety of different jobs – graphic designer, coding, warehouse and logistics work and retail.

Track NN and ACS Recruitment have developed a partnership to support Autistic candidates to gain employment and this workshop will share best practice & support for companies. It will include:

• Mythbusting Autism

• Tips for those managing AS employees in the workplace

• What is a reasonable adjustment?

• Case studies

• How to access funding to help your business adapt

and more.
