TNMOC large slide rule

A Virtual Talk by Jerry McCarthy

This virtual talk will introduce logarithms and then proceed to describe slide rules and explain some of the more common scales to be found on them. The talk will then conclude by discussing a couple of special purpose slide rules.

The talk will last around 90 minutes, with a brief break at around the half-way point.

Participants will be able to download and print an A4-sized reproduction of a slide rule so they can, if they wish, follow some of the explanations on their own rule.
