Innovative technology meets hands-on, tangible exploration to develop core learning skills. Learn through play! Using Osmo Learning Games, this Augmented Reality Learning Workshop combines real game pieces with modern digital technology to facilitate learning that uses all five senses.

About this Event:

Osmo's pioneering approach to hybrid learning seeks to inspire even the youngest generation, providing an opportunity for them to interact with cutting-edge technology without compromising on hands-on play and by maintaining a strong connection with the real world!

Osmo's fun, engaging and interactive Augmented Reality Learning Games are designed to pique children's curiosity, making them eager to learn and discover more, whilst supporting their cognitive and physical development and growing their knowledge. Just some of the core learning skills encompassed by Osmo's Learning Games are:

This Augmented Reality Learning Workshop will feature the following Osmo Learning Games:

  • Creative Starter Kit (4-10): Let your imagination run wild! The Creative Starter Kit integrates real-life doodles with amazing on-screen action, inspiring children to share their creativity with the world.

  • Coding Blocks (Ages 5-10): Coding is the 'modern superpower' and an essential skill in the digital world of the 21st century! The Coding Starter-Kit provides an informal, easy and accessible route for introducing kids to the basic concepts of coding, connecting colourful command blocks to navigate a digital adventure!

  • Math Wizard and the Magical Workshop (Ages 6-8): Maths meets magic in this digital adventure! Master addition and subtraction to successfully brew potions and cast magic spells as you embark this quest.

  • Pizza Co (Ages 5-12): Practice entrepreneurship and discover what it's like to run a business as you take charge of managing your very own digital pizza shop! Pizza Co incorporates real-world, fast paced mental maths with the challenge of deciphering non-verbal communication.

  • Genius Tangram (Ages 6-12): Arrange physical coloured puzzle pieces to match shapes shown on-screen in this interactive spatial-play and visual problem-solving puzzle game.

  • Genius Word Tiles (Ages 6-10): Use letter tiles to guess a mystery word and unlock prizes as you progress through multiple levels in a game that makes spelling fun!

  • Genuis Numbers (Ages 6-10): Use dot and digit tiles to add, subtract, count and multiply as you navigate an exciting aquatic environment.

This workshop is part of our Easter STEM Bytes Festival. In addition to our Augmented Reality Learning Workshop, you will have access to the Museum's collection of exhilarating new technology, ready for families to immerse themselves in fun and creative educational activities designed to unlock imaginations, inspire and entertain. Terms and Conditions:

  • This workshop is designed for children aged 4 and over. Please note, the recommended age range for each Learning Game varies.

  • Children MUST be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop.

  • Each adult attending the workshop to supervise a child MUST purchase an 'Accompanying Adult Ticket.'

  • Your workshop ticket includes entry to the Museum and our Easter STEM Bytes Festival, allowing you to explore and be inspired by our extraordinary collection whilst you are here.
