Awards Ceremony for the Honorary Fellowship of Liz Upton & Eben Upton

The National Museum of Computing's Honorary Fellowship Programme acknowledges outstanding individuals who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the fields of computing and technology.

During this ceremony, Liz Upton & Eben Upton will be presented with their Honorary Fellowship by Andrew Herbert, Chair of Trustees at The National Museum of Computing. The presentation will take place in the First Generation Gallery, in front of the WITCH, the oldest working First Generation computer on the planet. On accepting his Honorary Fellowship, Liz Upton & Ebon Upton will respond, taking questions from the audience.

This is an onsite event which will also be live streamed for those who would prefer to attend virtually. Please see below for further information.

Online Attendance Includes:

  • Access to the livestream of the Awards Ceremony to witness Liz Upton & Ebon Upton being presented with their Honorary Fellowship and his subsequent response, including a short question and answer session.

Onsite Attendance Includes:

  • Arrival at the Museum from 13:00 to enjoy refreshments/nibbles and networking.

  • Physical attendance to the Awards Ceremony where Liz Upton & Ebon Upton will be presented with their Honorary Fellowship and give a response, including a short question and answer session.

  • The opportunity to meet Liz Upton & Eben Upton in person

13:00 - 13:50: Attendees to arrive at the Museum and enjoy refreshments and networking in the Meeting Room. Refreshments

13:50 - 14:00: TNMOC Staff to escort attendees to the First Generation Gallery for the Award Ceremony.

14:00 - 14:20: Award Ceremony. Liz Upton /Eben Upton will be presented with their Honorary Fellowship by Chair of Trustees, Andrew Herbert and will respond. we will live stream to our audiences.

14:20 - 15:30: Liz & Eben to give individual talks 30 minutes on their career and exceptional inspiration journey - live streamed to both our virtual audience.

15:30 - 15:40: Networking & Photos

15:40 ‘Official’ event end. Attendees may like to stay to explore the Museum.
