Bridging the gap between employers and future employees in the dynamic world of technology, RAF sponsorship of Digital Future Days helps reduce barriers to accessing Museum visits.

Digital Future Days is an exciting initiative hosted by TNMOC, dedicated to empowering school-age learners with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in the digital era. Through a series of hands-on events held throughout the year, we provide a unique opportunity for students and educators to explore and develop digital skills while connecting with industry leaders with the added bonus of immersion in heritage.

Thanks to sponsorship from the RAF Youth & STEM team, we are able to run a selection of our Digital Future Days with a 60% discount on admission (compared to standard educational visits). Our aim is to secure sponsorship for all 25 planned Digital Future Days for each academic year.

Bridging the Digital Skills Gap

Strong digital skills are a necessity for individual success in an increasingly digital world. Effective development of digital skills requires opportunity above all else, but increased living costs reinforce socio-economic barriers to cultural capital and, in this case, digital proficiency by restricting funding.

We are especially focused on supporting young women, underprivileged students, and communities in need, helping them bridge the digital skills gap and realise their full potential.

Understanding Impact

In the academic year 22-23, we delivered a total of 23 Digital Future Days:

  • 6 specifically for young women

  • 4 exclusively for home-educators

  • 4 tailored to neurodiverse communities

We have inspired and empowered 2,563 learners aged 11-17 from more than 106 different schools, with an average Pupil Premium rate of 32%.

Inspiring Future Employees

Technology is a valuable tool in every field. Rather than treating computing as a stand-alone subject, our Digital Future Days illustrate applicability across a diverse range of industries while provoking career exploration.

We encourage sponsors to run interactive, hands-on workshops, encouraging career exploration by offering inspirational role models currently achieving success in STEM. These workshops are also perfect volunteering opportunities for team members, allowing them to develop public speaking skills in a supportive environment.

The range of activities for girls to do gave them lots of different experiences and knowledge. Would recommend. Very fun and enjoyable!

The schedule that you had planned for us was superb. It was pitched very well in terms of level for our Year 7s, and they particularly engaged with those sessions with lots of hands-on activities. We were also very appreciative of the number of volunteers all of whom were very knowledgeable and willing to show the students the exhibits. Definitely worth the trip!
