Moonlight Serenade: Secrets Skies Over Bletchley Park - Philomena Liggins

As the Allies prepare for the D-Day offensive, six young Wrens are drafted to Bletchley Park. Initially overwhelmed by the place they begin working on the German Lorenz cipher and those messages sent between Hitler and his High Command.

Living in nearby Crawley Grange the Wrens are introduced to the young Allied air crews training at RAF Cranfield and romance blossoms as the big band sounds of Glenn Miller’s Moonlight Serenade fills the air.

All to soon the mood changes and a different moonlight serenade can be heard as the air crews haul their secret loads over the English countryside and out to the resistance fighters behind enemy lines.

This is a story of love and romance, highlighting the hidden fears and secrets of a group of young people working at Bletchley Park.

In this place of contrasts, laughter and tears are mixed with the inevitable casualties of war, often where you least expect them.
