Origins of the EDSAC Replica Project

The EDSAC Replica is being constructed by and for The EDSAC Replica Project, a registered charity (No 1145823), and will be on display at TNMOC.


On 7 January 2013 the trustees management committee met at the premises of Teversham Engineering for one of their regular meetings and to see the first replica chassis come off the production facility. We took the opportunity to speak to the representatives of the Trustees to learn about their reasons for supporting the project.

The charity is administered by trustees representing

  • the University of Cambridge

  • the BCS

  • the Hauser-Raspe Foundation.

In addition to monitoring the project, the Trustees are responsible for fund raising and have secured initial funding from the Hauser-Raspe Foundation, Google and other private individuals.
